The invention of contact lens is one of the best inventions in human history. Contact lens was discovered in 1887, but it was not used at that time. At that time, contact lens were made of thick glass, as a result it was very difficult for the people to use it. Later, with advancement of technologies, contact lens became wearable. Nowadays, people prefer contact lens more than spectacles. Carrying a spectacle on their ears all day long is often a problem for hard working people and also for the young kids. For this kind of reason, people tend to use contact lens more than spectacles.

However, there are some problems about the contact lenses. Most importantly, it has to be cleaned regularly. Most people do not take much care of their lenses and are ignorant about it. There are several different options for cleaning and disinfecting a contact lens, depending on the type of lens a person is wearing. Not cleaning a contact lens regularly can cause discomfort and reduce vision and even contamination. However, contact lens cannot be cleaned like the glass spectacles; it should be cleaned very carefully. There are also certain limitations for cleaning a lens.

In my first section,as a primary eye care specialist advice you to use spectacles.They are very safe and low risk. It’s only possible to break glasses. And with a good eye examinatin and a suitable spectacle selection, you can be confidence you have safe eyes. You wear spectacle in the morning and remove at bed time,a safe mode. Isn’t it?

As a contact lens pro, I recommend you to buy high quality contacts If you’re hated from spectacles. With a precise eye examination for contact lens prescription, you’ll have a good vision and more comfortable use than spectacles.There’re different types of contact lenses such as sphericals(for nearsightedness and far sightedness) and torics(for astigmatism) . You can use soft and hard  ones.Optometrist will select the best one you’ll have safe eyes and comfortness. Soft contact lenses are  more comfortable  and  easy to use. You won’t have foreign body sensation with them. They  can be used  for sports(football and …),but you should remove them before swimming and bed even for monthly contacts.Recently soft torics have had a  huge revolution in contact lens world !

Astigmatism

It is a condition where the cornea is irregularly shaped that leads to distorted vision especially at near distances. Either glasses or toric contact lenses can correct astigmatism for most people. Small amounts of astigmatism may be correctable with regular GP contacts.

Bifocal

A type of spectacle or contact lens design that includes two focal areas: one for near, one for distance.

Cleaning solution

When cleaning contact lenses, the first step is often to apply a few drops of cleaning solution to the surface and rub gently for about 20 seconds. The solution and the rubbing work together to loosen any debris, which is then rinsed off with saline solution. The next step is disinfection and storage.

   Contact lens dispensing may be handled by specially trained technicians, who fit the lenses after an optometrist or ophthalmologist determines the prescription.
